Throughout lessons in photography, I've put together this image of some of the buildings i don't like which are from Leicester. I've also added in some textures that i think make the collage of buildings more ugly looking! And I've added in a galaxy back ground to add in a sense of strange which i think makes the image look just that little bit better.
This is an image i have made of some of the buildings i like which are built and placed in England. The reason why i've used these buildings are due to me thinking that there futuristic, nicely shaped, and shiny! I have also added in a funky coloured leopord print background to create an unusual city... This creates my disco inspired city come together!
The tools I used in photoshop:
Lasso: Polygonal lasso tool
Adjustments: Curves
Transformations: Distort
Transformations: Warp
Filter: Artistic effects

What architecture means to me.
Architecture has an inspiration to my life as it can cause a building to look unique, also it causes an effect that can be good yet bad. One thing i like most about architecture is the way how a simple something can make a building look completely different! And an example of this would be to add a piece of metal on the side of a building, this could change the whole way it looks just by adding a simple element. But sometimes architecture can be bad, just like the historical buildings which are still standing. Sometimes they may look unpleasant as they may be made out of stone, which over time erodes away. Also architecture can cause buildings to look boring! On the other hand, i like architecture as it shows the way in which buildings have changed over the years, they've gone from rustic and traditional to shiny and futuristic! More as, i don't always like architecture due to it causing buildings to be boring, old fashioned or ugly.
Architecture around Leicester!
As me and my group of photographers went down into the area of Leicester,
we had an objective to take pictures of different types of architecture
which we thought was interesting. We also had to take pictures
of materials which we think architectures would use.

For this slideshow i've decided to place my images which i think have an interesting streak, the way how somebody has managed to bring the use of bricks and used smashed glass and barb wire to make this building the way in which it looks cool :)
Also i have noticed how these newer buildings have more greenery on them, some have sticky out coming parts on them and some even use dark wood and bold writing on there buildings!

Here as you can see on the slideshow above, i've taken pictures which i think that artists may use as a building material to give a building an etchy look, by adding hooks onto them and worn our paint!
Throughout these pictures i've seen how architectures have used eye catching twists to make you aware, just like they have with the brick filled windows, and the pipework on the top of houses and shops filled with greenery and then the carved bricked sidings!
|
As you can see above i have pictures on how bricks work with buildings, we have houses side by side which are identical, then we have some woodworked buildings which have a frame of timber and then colourful plaster over bricks which i think make the buildings look funky!
As i have looked through this slideshow of how bricks may be used to build buildings i've noticed that some bricks are used to add more detail, to build chimneys and to be built in a weird shape!

Final project
For my final project, I have been working on an assessed task using photoshop, we we're set a challenge to make our own creation using the images we have taken over the past few weeks. and act like we was going to build our own creation in real life in the city of Leicestershire. For my challenge I have made something which I think is a new futuristic looking school, I have attempted to blend and merge different images together to make one whole building with curves and wavy sides for walls. In this I have put in images of my school to create a new one. To do this I have warped images together so then they're not you're everyday building which you may see in your city center. I believe that this is an interesting creation because it looks like something that would be built in the future with curved, wavey and glassed buildings. And theirs a whole new background setting using broken glass, and adding a section of lighting which we captured when we was doing our lighting experiments.
